The kick-off meeting of the EU project “ADVANCE- Advancing Municipal Circular Economy” was held in Athens on the 11 & 12 of May 2022 in SIGMA Premises. “ADVANCE” is a 2-years project funded by Erasmus+ Program, Action Type: KA220-VET – Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training. The aim of the project is the preparation of a learning package (including a Gap Analysis Tool, a Baseline Assessment, an implementation Methodology and a Training Course) to support HORECA SMEs and Municipalities to access and improve their food waste management practices.

The project is run by a consortium of 7 partners from 5 different European countries. All partners have the technical expertise to contribute to the achievement of the project objectives and a wide experience of participation in similar European Projects.
The first meeting in Athens was dedicated to presenting in detail the project goals, the planned activities and the roles of the partners. Extensively described by the coordinator organization of the project were also the administrative and financial rules of the ERASMUS+ Program, the plan for the elaboration of the outputs and the research methods.

Our company is one of the key partners in this EU funded effort. EUGENE will be the leader of the 5th Project Result which has as its main output the development of a Learning Platform that will host all the above. Additionally, EUGENE will host the next transnational project meeting which will take place in October 2022 in Limassol, Cyprus.
