The Erasmus+ PRO.D.I.G.Y. Project, dedicated to improving workplace integration for people with disabilities, successfully concluded with its final partners’ meeting in November in Ostrava, Czech Republic. This meeting capped off extensive efforts to create more inclusive and accessible workplaces across Europe.
International Conference Highlights
On November 27, 2024, the PRO.D.I.G.Y. Project hosted an international conference organised by Handy Club Ostrava, the local project partner. The event took place in the Regional Authority’s meeting room, bringing together professionals, organisations, and experts to present the project’s outcomes.
The conference featured several notable presentations. Representatives from the National Committee for Disabled People provided an overview of national initiatives that support disabled individuals in the workforce, emphasising the importance of policy frameworks in fostering inclusivity. The Czech Employment Office presented various government programs designed to assist people with disabilities in securing employment, highlighting the role of public institutions in promoting workplace integration.
EUGENE, responsible for website and platform development, is proud to be part of this initiative. A special challenge was the implementation of VR/AR exercises developed by Realiscape (https://realiscape.ch ). These exercises were tailored to meet the needs of the target group and the available equipment, leading to the creation of several desktop VR exercises that have been integrated into the project’s online platform.
The PRO.D.I.G.Y. Project has made significant strides in promoting the employment of people with disabilities by including them in emergency preparedness efforts at work. The successful conclusion of the PRO.D.I.G.Y. Project represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive digital economy.
